Industry and Parliament unite for World Camping Day 2026 campaign launch

Caravan & Residential Parks Victoria was delighted to welcome industry representatives, stakeholders and Members of Parliament at Parliament House last Thursday for the official launch of our marketing campaign to celebrate World Camping Day 2026.

The event provided attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with elected representatives, government and other tourism stakeholders to help them learn more about the industry, World Camping Day campaign and our requests for government reform that will better support member businesses.

The conversations throughout the afternoon demonstrated the continued growth and maturity of the association’s advocacy program, while showcasing the significant economic and social value both our tourist and residential sectors deliver to Victorians and our community.

We were particularly pleased to be joined BIG4 Holiday Parks, YMH, GlamXperience and Caravan Industry Victoria as exhibiting industry partners. Their support reinforced the collaborative approach that continues to drive growth, innovation and advocacy outcomes across both our tourism and our residential sectors.

The strong attendance and engagement from parliamentarians and tourism agencies was particularly encouraging and reflected the increasing recognition of the sector as a critical component of Victoria’s visitor economy.

Accommodating half of all Victorians holidaying every year in regional Victoria, contributing more than $2.6 billion to the Victorian economy each year, and supporting 17,000 jobs, the industry continues to play a vitally important role in regional prosperity.

The launch marks the beginning of the next phase of the World Camping Day campaign, which will culminate on 29 June 2026.
