CRPVic Tourist Park Policy Platform – Unlocking Victoria’s Next Generation of Tourist Parks

Published on 29 April 2026

Caravan & Residential Parks Victoria has released its Tourist Park Policy Platform, outlining 24 recommendations to unlock investment, support innovation and strengthen the future of the sector.

As the peak body representing more than 370 tourist and residential parks across Victoria, our members play a critical role in delivering affordable accommodation, supporting regional jobs and sustaining local economies. The sector is at the epicentre of regional Victorian tourism, providing nearly half of all holiday accommodation, contributing more than $2.6 billion to the Victorian economy and supporting approximately 17,000 jobs.

Despite this, current policy and regulatory settings are constraining investment, limiting innovation and impacting the growth and development of regional communities.

Our policy platform outlines 24 practical and deliverable recommendations that will:

  • Reform planning to unlock new and upgraded accommodation
  • Reform Crown land leasing to support long-term investment
  • Recognise emerging accommodation types such as glamping
  • Strengthen the sector’s role in Victoria’s visitor economy
  • Address insurance, cost and regulatory pressures
  • Build climate resilience and infrastructure capability
  • Support workforce development and skills
  • Improve coordination across government
  • Enhance accessibility for all Victorian holidaymakers
