Guest satisfaction remains high in Victorian tourist parks

Victoria caravan parks recorded another outstanding quarter of guest feedback, maintaining an impressive 87% GRI (Global Review Index) in the ReviewPro Caravan Park Tourism Region Performance Report, October to December 2025.

The GRI is a general online reputation score for a group of caravan parks, based on data from all major online travel agencies and review sites

Victoria again exceeded the national average and placed second overall, maintaining the high level of guest satisfaction recorded in Q3 (June to September).

Almost 10,200 guest reviews were submitted across the quarter, with customer service emerging as a standout.

Victoria achieved a 93% GRI for customer service, improving by over 1 point on the previous quarter and outperforming the national average by two points.

Impressively, caravan parks in Bendigo Loddon received 100% satisfaction for customer service, closely followed by Gippsland (98.9%), Central Highlands (98.3%) and Mallee (96.3%). Other highlights:

  • Bendigo Loddon led the state with a 91.6% GRI, including a second perfect 100% score for cleanliness
  • Great Ocean Road recorded the highest number of reviews (2097), with an 86.4% GRI
  • Geelong and the Bellarine posted the largest growth in reviews (+252) and an 88.2% GRI
  • Central Highlands recorded the biggest GRI improvement, up 4.5 to 85.9%.
  • Gippsland recorded the highest increase in cleanliness with a 98.8% GRI (+7.2).

As Jack Trainor from Booking.com highlighted during the 2025 CRPVic Conference in August, “guest reviews are digital currency, digital word of mouth that our guests provide us to help shape our businesses and the experiences we deliver.”

He noted that 81% of Booking.com users rely on guest reviews when selecting accommodation, adding that while value remains important, travellers increasingly look for authentic guest experiences and unique stays.
